Arthur K. Maderson
20th May 2010 to 14th June 2010 Discover the Colour of Maderson
May Exhibition 2010
Arthur K. Maderson the painter paints with bright, vibrant, and often unexpected colours using broad brushstrokes and daubs of paint to represent his subject matter. Up close his paintings are a jumbled cascade of colours where most objects are indiscernible, yet when viewed from a distance these objects become clearly defined and amazingly real. How an artist can create detail with hands only two feet from the canvas yet eyes that see from more than twenty feet away is the incredible wonder of Arthurís paintings. Yet Arthur is not the painter of detail, his purpose instead is to engage his viewer in an act of perception, challanging the viewer to determine the difference between what they see and what they think they see.
