New works in Katherine Liddy’s second Oisín Gallery solo-exhibition capture both the unreserved intimacy and the mystical energy of Irish culture in the West. Merging conceptual and realistic interpretations of the west coast of Ireland, this landscape genre is a new avenue for the artist – while she continues to add a touch of the historical and mythological to a new departure from her more figurative style.

A maturing artistic vision, stimulated by the metaphysical, has lured Katherine to investigate phenomenon and the ecology of Hy Breasail – an island once believed to be situated off the west coast of Ireland and Dun Aonghasa – the largest of the pre-historic stone forts of the Aran Islands.
